Chapter 5: Wrongly Deemed a Monster Girl

."Young Miss, why are you sighing" Noticing something unusual about Qi Lin, Green Bamboo couldn't help but ask: "Ah, I can understand your feelings. The Emperor is indeed eccentric. You were the first...Chapter 5 Mistaken for a Demoness

The first ray of sunlight of the morning penetrated through the dense forest, bathing the woman's jade-like translucent skin. The countless red marks on her body became quite noticeable.

"Mm." The wet sensation on her face kept disturbing Qi Lin, but she still refused to open her eyes. She reached out and pressed the fluffy wolf head into her embrace, trying to find a comfortable position to sleep again. But the creature in her arms seemed uncooperative, moving its head restlessly and even began nipping at her shoulders, making Qi Lin feel itchy. "Little White, stop playing around. I'm so sleepy."

Qi Lin pushed away Little White and rested her hand on her forehead, unwillingly opening her eyes. She saw several wolf heads looking curiously at her, including that of Little White. Qi Lin stiffened as she tugged the corners of her mouth; why did it feel like she had been caught red-handed

Bad things!

Qi Lin suddenly sat up straight. One of the wolves dodged in time but still got its chin hit hard, causing it to howl painfully. Qi Lin roughly stroked the wolf's head a few times as she tried to recall last night's events; fragmented memories flashed through her mind quickly enough to make Qi Lin feel like she had been struck by lightning, leaving her ears buzzing and her brain blank. The wolves looked at Qi Lin confusedly, thinking that if they had arrived earlier, Qi Lin wouldn't have gotten angry. Some of the wolves lay down on the ground, looking pitifully at Qi Lin.

What did she do What did she do with a stranger man She actually did such things with an unfamiliar guy!! Did it mean that her bones harbored such despicable impulses

Little White looked curiously at Qi Lin, but noticed that Qi Lin's gaze was still fixed on the white stone. Ever since Qi Lin sat up, she had been looking at the stone straight ahead; Little White also turned and smelled the stone a few times. Besides a faint smell of blood, there was nothing else.

Qi Lin stared silently at the single discordant shade of red on the white rock, as if mocking her carelessness. She couldn't deny that even though she had initially been immobilized by being struck with an acupuncture point and forced to comply, when she could move afterward and refused or fought back, she still got immersed in the pleasure and even actively responded to the black-clad man.

"Huhu... Huhuhu..." Qi Lin looked at the crimson hue and mocked herself. That man had a magical power that made her lose herself; although she was cold-hearted, she was still human, and bodily desires often exceeded one's imagination. She would treat it as having had an erotic dream or experienced sexual desire.

After reflecting on everything clearly, Qi Lin raised her hand and slapped her face a few times, shocking the wolves into staring at her. Qi Lin laughed cheerfully, "Let’s go home."

"Ow" The wolf pack looked at each other, not knowing what was going on with Qi Lin. But seeing that she seemed in better spirits, they started howling along.

Qi Lin jumped onto Little White's back and glanced back at the stone, mentally noting its location before leaving.

She knew that perhaps she would never see that person again, but... Looking at her complete attire, Qi Lin felt less burdened. At least he helped her get dressed. She vaguely remembered what this man seemed to whisper in her ear during her first time experience of extreme pain:

"Relax."

Relax. For someone born in the twenty-first century like Qi Lin, she understood that comforting a woman under such circumstances required immense care and consideration.

If this person were still around, perhaps... Huh, nothing can be changed. Qi Lin was無力地趴在小白身上,她在想什麼呢?一切都亂了,對一個什麼都冇有留下的陌生人竟然抱有期待?太天真了,太可笑了。他們冇有可能。

If it had only been an encounter that would never happen again, then let him become a dream and be carried away by the wind.

Most of the wolf pack left. The little wolf catching fish in the water hurriedly chased after them but slipped and fell, getting up again to shake off the water from its body before chasing on. However, it kept sensing other scents and stopped to investigate clearly, only to hear calls from other wolves and give up, leaving.

"Big... Brother, have they all left" A trembling voice came out weakly from the grass.

"Yes, they've all gone."

"Brother, how come that girl is with the wolf pack then" The man slightly raised his head and wiped off the mud on his face before patting the person in front of him. "Could she be a monster"

"I think so." Another man carefully observed, confirming that the wolf pack wouldn't return before slowly coming out from the grass to walk over to where Qi Lin had been sitting on the white rock earlier. The stone was smooth and shiny except for one spot with several spots of crimson red. Presumably, the girl had just looked at this place too. Could there be some deeper meaning But after looking for a long time, he still couldn't figure anything out. "Second brother, we should hurry back. There are often wolf packs around here, and soon they'll smell us once the mud washes off."

But...

"We can discuss it when we get back," the leader pulled his younger brother who wanted to investigate further and quickly left. They were originally hunters from a village at the foot of the mountain, often hunting in this area, but they had never entered before like today. Even though they covered their bodies with mud, after going through all the trouble, the mud would soon wash off. With so many questions, they could only go back and talk.

But at that moment, Qin Xiao was right at the foot of White Tiger Mountain.

His clothes were tightly tied around his waist with a belt, a long sword straightly inserted just one step ahead to the upper left, plus two jars of wine. His feet stepped on mixed mud and grass, strong winds blowing over him, sunlight shining upon him, but he felt as cold inside out like ice.

But Qin Xiao was simply standing still. After a long time, he slowly raised his head and lifted his icy face to look at the giant rock inscribed with "White Tiger Mountain."

He had left the city alone today and came to White Tiger Mountain. This mountain was the largest on the western side of Phoenix Country, rich in prey but also dominated by wolf packs, hence its alternative name: Gray Wolf Mountain. Originally just hearing about how fierce the wolves there were and entering it being dangerous, he didn't believe that people couldn't defeat these beasts.

Never did he expect his momentary arrogance would turn into a weapon to bury his subordinates.

Cursed. Truly cursed.

Qin Xiao stared at the forest, which was as still as death. The calm exterior was merely to mask the danger within. He would not make the same mistake again. Absolutely not.

Picking up a jar of wine, he lifted off the red cover, and the aroma of liquor immediately filled his nostrils. Qin Xiao raised the jar and declared, "Hereby I swear by my name Qin Xiao that if my brothers risk their lives to save mine, I will never live in shame. In the future, I must personally cleanse White Tiger Mountain with wolf blood as a tribute to their spirits."

After finishing his vow, he poured out the wine from left to right. He then picked up another jar of wine, lifted off its cover, and drank it in one swift motion.

The liquor spilled down from the corners of his mouth wave after wave; it seemed like there was no end to it. His collar had already been soaked through, but finally, he finished drinking all the wine from the jar. He threw the empty jar aside, and it shattered with a loud bang.

"Clang!"

Qin Xiao swiftly drew his long sword and began practicing his swordplay beside him.

Every place where the blade of his sword reached was left broken branches or flattened grass. He would sometimes leap onto tree branches and other times flip in midair, reflecting beams of light from his sword; however, none could match the sharpness of his eyes filled with killing intent.

In the end, Qin Xiao sheathed his sword at the back of his waist, beads of sweat covering his forehead. His lips were slightly pale, and his left sleeve was stained red with blood.

"Big Brother, be careful."

Qin Xiao's ears twitched, and he raised his long sword again, leaping into the forest to land before two clay figures staggering towards him. He lunged forward, pressing the tip of his sword against their throats.

The sudden appearance of Qin Xiao and the sharp blade at their necks made them tremble with fear; they fell to their knees and begged for mercy.

"Mercy, great hero! We are merely hunters from the foot of the mountain. We did nothing wrong, please spare our lives!" Terrified out of their wits, the two men desperately磕頭,額頭很快見了血。

Seeing that they were not martial artists, Qin Xiao knew that there were many hunters living at the base of White Tiger Mountain, but he still said coldly, "Less than half an incense stick after dawn broke, and you emerged from here. Are you trying to deceive this general"

"General" The two men exchanged a glance before looking at Qin Xiao, who was tall and distinguished with clear eyes and features. They were even more terrified and stammered, "G-g-general, please spare our lives! We are just ordinary hunters. Today my wife is due to give birth, so I wanted to go hunting for food to nourish her body. Initially, I thought there would be many wild rabbits in the early morning, but chasing after one rabbit led me into the mountain. Helpless, I smeared mud on myself and removed the scent to avoid wolf attacks. What I said is all true; please spare our lives."

"Yes, yes, I came here with Big Brother to hunt." He added another heavy磕頭,腦中閃過剛纔所見的一切,著實嚇了一跳。

Qin Xiao saw that the two men were speaking sincerely, but one of them seemed evasive. He then asked, "So, have you seen anything Speak the truth."

"This man has not seen anything."

"This man saw..."

"Saw what" Qin Xiao shot a sharp glance at them; he was sure that these two must have seen something. Could it be the assassin from last night "Speak up."

"Yes, this man saw...a girl," the man stammered as he watched Qin Xiao's face carefully. Although his face was smeared with mud and only his eyes were visible, he still habitually wiped sweat off his brow.

"A girl" Qin Xiao frowned slightly; the assassin who attacked last night was clearly a male, so how could there be a girl in the mountains Could she be an accomplice Yet, there were many fierce and violent wolves in the mountain. He had seen them with his own eyes; how could a girl possibly survive among them without harm "Do you dare to deceive this general Do you want to die"

"What I said is absolutely true," the two men knelt again, recalling what they saw carefully and reported back, "That girl was wearing white wolf skin. She looked to be about eighteen years old."

"There were also a pack of wolves around her, right Yes, there was an over four-foot-tall snow wolf among them. The girl was sitting on the back of that snow wolf, and all the wolves followed her. That girl didn't look human; she appeared to have transformed into one."

The man described it vividly while gesturing with his hands, "We used to hear women's voices in this mountain from our colleagues, but we thought they were just making things up. I never expected that today my brother and I would actually see her; she must be real."

Qin Xiao looked into the depths of the forest where thick fog made it impossible to see clearly. Whether or not these two hunters' words were true, their description was too vivid to be a lie. If what they said was true, then this girl really transformed from a wolf demon, or could she be related to last night's assassin

Regardless of that, Qin Xiao raised the corner of his mouth and seemed relieved as he coldly stated, "This general will temporarily believe you. Once I verify it, I'll spare your lives."

"Thank you, General." The two men, having been pardoned, quickly knelt down to thank him.

Qin Xiao ignored them and turned around to leave but suddenly stopped, taking out a silver ingot from his waist and throwing it on the ground before leaping out of the forest.

"Brother, this...this is silver," one of the men picked up the silver from the ground and stared with wide eyes in excitement. "The general gave us silver."

"This..." The older man looked at where Qin Xiao left with gratitude and silently decided that once his wife safely delivered their baby, he would go to work for General Qin to repay him.

Wait, what was the name of this general againat the wild game in Bai Qianye’s hand and said, "Shouldn't we roast it"Unexpectedly, Bai Qianye threw the game aside without any intention of roasting it. Instead, he took out a wild fruit from his ch...
